5th & 6th Grade
🎯 Academic Rigor with Real-World Application
At EDUPRIZE, our 5th and 6th grade programs are designed to challenge and inspire students as they prepare for junior high and beyond. Aligned with the Arizona College and Career Ready Standards, this phase of learning promotes independence, critical thinking, and academic excellence—all in a technology-rich, hands-on environment.
Students are supported through daily direct instruction, small group differentiation, and personalized technology tools that ensure every child gets the support or enrichment they need.

➗ Math & Literacy That Push Thinking Further
As academic expectations grow, so does our commitment to making learning meaningful and engaging.
📘 Language Arts:
Benchmark Advance ELA curriculum includes high-interest literature and informational text to strengthen comprehension, analysis, and vocabulary.
Lucy Calkins’ Writers Workshop gives students tools to plan, draft, revise, and publish writing across genres, supporting deeper reading and critical thinking skills.
Differentiated instruction ensures each student receives targeted support or enrichment based on their reading level and progress monitoring data.
➕ Mathematics:
Eureka Math in 5th grade builds foundational fluency through concrete, visual, and abstract thinking.
Carnegie Math in 6th grade emphasizes multi-step problem-solving and application across disciplines.
Real-world problem solving and cross-curricular connections are emphasized to deepen understanding.
Teachers use adaptive technology tools to monitor progress, offer just-in-time support, and ensure mastery.
🔬 Cottage Science & Thematic Exploration
Learning comes to life through our science-based Cottage curriculum, a signature program at EDUPRIZE. Each nine-week Cottage unit allows students to immerse themselves in a themed area of science while applying their academic skills across subjects.
🧪 Through Cottages, Students Will:
Explore topics in earth, life, physical, and environmental science
Apply reading, writing, and math skills in meaningful projects
Engage in hands-on experiments and classroom labs
Build teamwork and presentation skills through public showcases at Cottage Fairs
This approach not only solidifies academic foundations, but also builds curiosity, creativity, and confidence in every learner.
