🔬 Science at EDUPRIZE: A Hands-On Learning Experience

At EDUPRIZE, we believe science should spark wonder. Named “The Science School” by Phoenix Magazine, our program is built around active learning, exploration, and student-led discovery.

Our signature Cottage Program blends science with math, reading, and social studies through themed, project-based units. Each quarter, students bring their learning to life with hands-on creations showcased at our popular Cottage Fairs. These experiences give students real-world applications for academic skills and build a foundation for scientific thinking.

🌱 Live Learning Labs: Science in Action

Our campus is home to one of the most immersive science environments in Arizona. Through our Live Learning Labs, students interact with ecosystems and scientific tools right outside their classroom door.

These on-campus labs include:

  • 🦎 Reptile Ranch

  • 🦕 Dinosaur Dig

  • 🌿 Botanical Garden & Greenhouse

  • 🌍 Ecology zones and outdoor science stations

Students make predictions, collect and analyze data, and record their observations using scientific methods. These rich, hands-on environments foster curiosity, teamwork, and critical thinking from the earliest grades.

🧠 Advanced Science in Middle & High School

As students grow, so do their scientific opportunities. Our middle school and high school science programs prepare learners to succeed in higher-level STEM pathways.

Middle School (Grades 7–8)

  • 7th Grade: Geology, Astronomy, Ecology, Botany

  • 8th Grade: Genetics, Life Science, Physics, Chemistry, Anatomy

  • Honors courses available

  • Real-world experiments: terr-aqua ecosystems, rocket launches, mammal dissections

  • Guest speakers from ASU, Liberty Wildlife, and more

High School (Grades 9–12)

  • Full 4-year science track: Conceptual Physics, Chemistry, Advanced Biology, and more

  • Lab safety, scientific inquiry, and research skills emphasized

  • Instruction from highly experienced and certified science educators

  • Prepares students for college-level science and future STEM careers

Our high school program offers 4 years of physical and life sciences.

Honors Conceptual Physics, Chemistry and advanced Biologies are offered. In addition to core sciences concepts, students are taught procedural safety, laboratory methodology, and scientific inquiry.

These opportunities would not be possible without the training and curriculum expertise of our science department, which boasts over fifty years of teaching experience and highly qualified secondary certifications such as biology, chemistry, general science, and S.T.E.M. These experiences not only enhance every child’s science education but prepares students for the rigorous science curriculum opportunities in our International Baccalaureate program.
